Chinese Medicine has been practiced in Asia for over 2,000 years as the primary system of medicine for billions of people. While often used in the U.S. to treat pain, a trained acupuncturist looks at our body’s systems as a comprehensive whole and treats each person as a complex, integrated being. This usually results in relief from many symptoms: from decreased stress, to improved digestion, better sleep, relief from depression, and much more.
5 Element Acupuncture uses the understanding that our bodies are a part of nature, and change like the seasons change. This inter-relatedness provides a framework in which to treat all of our symptoms in the simplest, most effective way possible. Acupuncture promotes healing on all levels—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Acupuncture does not require that you believe in it for it to be effective. It works by moving the Qi (energy) in the body and releasing blockages. This allows the body to heal itself. Often people experience enhanced health and well-being beyond what they had thought possible.
Wendy also uses Chinese Herbs, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)—a system of self applied acupressure, Tuning Forks, Gua Sha, cupping, Shamanic Healing, flower essences, and other modalities as needed. She is currently accepting new clients. Expect to spend two hours at the first appointment, which includes a detailed health history, a diagnostic exam, and the initial treatment. Follow-up appointments are generally one hour in length.
