Qi Gong Information:
Qi gong (pronounced “chee gong”) is the practice of cultivating energy and inner peace. CT Holman, L.Ac. teaches forms that are simple yet powerful. Participants practice coordinating their movements with their breath; and use mental images to enhance the healing ability of the forms. Qi gong practice helps to increase stamina, metabolism, mental clarity, immune function and emotional stability. CT teaches several types of qi gong, including shaking, 3 treasures, 5 element, freestyle dragon form and meditation. Brief lectures on classical Chinese medicine, shamanism, and culture are included. Please wear comfortable clothing. Bring a meditation cushion if you like; otherwise blankets and mats are available. The class is taught on a drop-in basis and no previous experience is required.
CT Holman Bio:
CT Holman, L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist and certified Chinese herbalist. He has enjoyed practicing in Salem since 2001. CT started studying qi gong and tai ji (tai chi) in 1997 at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. He has practiced and studied qi gong with several teachers and is currently training with Master Zhong Xian Wu. CT teaches qi gong forms that are simple and accessible but also powerful.
